      From 1774 to 1857 (when Montague became a part of the Sixth Representative District) the town was represented by the following: Moses Gunn, Joseph Root, Moses Harvey, Caleb Kinsley, Henry Wells, Martin Root, Nathan Chenery, Medad Montague, Helaz AIvord, Jonathan Hartwell, Martin H. Clapp, Elisha Leffingwell, Elihu P. Thayer, Natlhan Hosmer, Joseph Clapp, Alpheus Moore, Erastus Andrews, R. N. Oakman, Zenas Clapp, George Clapp, Calvin Russell.
